Essex & Suffolk Sausage Meet
907 - 31/7/07 at 07:35 AM

Hi All,

While we still have some summer left (Tee He) how about a BBQ ?

I propose Saturday 11th August 2.30pm onwards, at my house.

I'll set up the barbies, get the bread rolls, relish, etc. and the missus will chuck a bit of salad in a bowl.
Tea & Coffee in the kitchen, or an iced water bin to throw your cans in. (Gonna be hot)

Bring your own meat, cokes, beers, etc. and toss a pound in the tin to cover the cost
of the charcoal, rolls, etc. and generally muck in with the cooking.

Bring the wife / girl friend or whatever, as it saves kissing them good bye.

Lets hope the weather is on our side.

All The Best

Paul G

(U2U for post code if you haven't been before)

David Jenkins - 31/7/07 at 07:48 AM

Me & the missus will be there...

p.s. Look forward to your report Doug.

garage19 - 31/7/07 at 02:24 PM

If it is a sasage meet then surely we should have a sausage challenge, like who can bring along the most obscure type of sausage!

Danozeman - 31/7/07 at 02:34 PM

Dam it. Im moving on the 10th so probably wont be about.

Ill try and swing it with the missus. If i can come ill bring the daughter along for the ladies to have something to do like we did last year.

I hope you do bring your daughter Dan.

Just don't sit her near the well !

rusty nuts - 31/7/07 at 07:38 PM

Weather and alternator permitting I'll be there

blockhead_rich - 31/7/07 at 08:23 PM

Subject to all things health wise (with my misses - one step forward and one back), I'd like to be there but I take each day as they come @ present.

So I'll confirm nearer the time if that's OK.

Rich

x_flow57 - 31/7/07 at 10:51 PM

Throw a sickie, I am self employed and don't understand what you mean

I will try to get along later if 6.00ish is not too late.

Fingers crossed you get some good weather.

Nick

907 - 1/8/07 at 06:26 AM

Rich.

No problem. I wish your wife a speedy recovery.

Nick.

OK mate. We'll sit and have a beer in the cool of the evening and sizzle a sausage over the dying embers.

Cheers everyone.

flak monkey - 1/8/07 at 05:28 PM

I might pop along as long as the weather is good. Rack up some more miles on the GTS (500 in under a week so far )

David Jenkins - 1/8/07 at 05:51 PM

David,

Make sure that you get directions from Paul!

He lives in one of a small collection of houses down a minor back road...
... nice countryside though, and great roads for driving!

907 - 2/8/07 at 05:51 PM

A couple more to add to the list. (emailed me)

Gaz 1977 - 3/8/07 at 11:39 AM

we will be there , i take it that there is enough room for a very little Epona

David Jenkins - 3/8/07 at 11:41 AM

Only if you drive it to the venue...

Ferg - 5/8/07 at 07:25 AM

I should be attending Paul, thanks for the invite!!

907 - 6/8/07 at 07:41 AM

Hi All.

It's lovely when our little group gets together but it's even better to see new faces.
A visitor or two from further afield is always nice.

If you are a Locostbuilder and are free on Saturday 11th (2.30 onwards) please come along, wives / girlfriends included.
Just call in the butchers on the way and get yourselves to the Sausage Meet. (burgers are allowed too)
There will be an ice bin to chuck your cans in, although tea and coffee will be provided.
A pound in the tin will cover my costs of the bread rolls, charcoal, relish, etc. so come and "kick the tyres & light the fires."

I'm just a few miles north of Braintree, east of Cambridge, south of Bury St Eds, and west of Colchester,
but U2U me for my post code, come along, and I guarantee you will receive a warm welcome.

O, and bring some sun tan lotion. ( he says hopefully )

Cheers
Paul G

Black Cat - 6/8/07 at 07:45 PM

Paul I would love to come but Ipswich are at home this Saturday. Next time you have one check the fixture list and I'll be there as I would like to meet all you nutters.

Steve, who's still building a Tiger Avon.

jonbeedle - 6/8/07 at 10:14 PM

I would love to be there to catch up with everyone (long time no see) but am doing a gig for Red Bull racing. Hopefully we can get together again when the summer arrives!

907 - 7/8/07 at 06:13 AM

Sadly it's impossible to avoid all other events.

Judging by my previous performance my main problem is avoiding rain.
Full marks to those that turned up that day.

907 - 9/8/07 at 12:05 AM

Hi All

Post code U2U'd Rich.

Called in on my mate Stuart today.
He said he would bring his 1971 Lotus 7 along.
I wonder how many of our cars will still be going strong when they're 36 years old?
Another mate, said he'd pop up. Apparently he knows you Raz. You met at a Pistonheads meet.

Anyone else fancy an afternoon out?

BKLOCO - 9/8/07 at 08:12 AM

If Dan reads this then we can sort out about the seats then.
Paul can you U2U me your postcode again please. I'll never find you otherwise.
Looks like the sun is gonna shine... woo...hoo...

David Jenkins - 10/8/07 at 12:22 PM

Paul,

I presume that the usual 'house rules' apply? That is, all tin-tops to park in the car-park opposite the church?

David

David

That is the general idea.
The only spanner that could be thrown in the works is if they cut the field tomorrow and need access for the combines.

O, the joys of living in the countryside.

I'll play it by ear. We may go on the grass verge in front of the church.

I hope there's not a wedding.

Cheers

David Jenkins - 10/8/07 at 02:35 PM

Just to help clutter the place up - we're bringing 2 cars! Me in the toy car, the missus in her tin-top.

Good morning All.

Looks like we are in for a glorious day. Lets have a BBQ.

If anyone has problems finding this pretty little north Essex village then give me a ring on 07779561613 for directions.

Now off to Tesco's to buy their entire stock of bread rolls and a few other bits & bobs, so I'll see you all later.

Have a nice drive

Edit. Yup, that's fine Rich.

What a pleasant way to spend a summer afternoon.
Many thanks Paul & Co for doing such a grand job. I would reciprocate but my garden is tiny ..... but I am planning to move this year so you never know

Thanks Paul & co, great to see everyone. Some great cars were there! Thanks for all the good-will messages for the wife! Sorry I had to dash off a bit early but I'm sure we'll meet again soon. I'll be back from my hol's on the 1st of Sept so I'll arrange a meet at the Thachers arms soon after that.

Do you all know that it is the Colchester Lions (I think it is organised by them anyway) car show on the 2nd of Sept in Colchester's Castle park? Kit's are welcome.......
