Owners club- do they still exist ?
Not Anumber - 16/2/12 at 05:20 PM

I spotted the MK owners club a couple of weeks ago, clicked through to pay £ 10 for membership and haven't heard anything since despite a couple of reminders.

There doesn't seem to be much recent stuff on the public facing part of the website - hoping theres a bit more on the members only side - also hoping they eventually get back to me with a membership number.

Are they actually still going ?

From what i have heard on here, don't hold your breath.

You have just wasted £10 of your money

MK Owners Club

Kiss goodbye to your tenner......

Great, i wonder how many others have fallen into this.

If whoever ran the club cant be arsed to run it anymore they ought at least take the website down or edit out the membership page.

Is there an alternative MK club ?

Try the Essex kit car club, members all over Essex some very close to you, meet in Chelmsford last Sunday of the month.
You are most welcome to " try before you buy"

Nothing to do with me
Speak to ASH3

ASH3 - 28/2/12 at 08:19 PM

Hi all,the owners club is still up and running and has been for years its upto members to use the site I can't make them as for a waste of a Tenner that really annoys me but I'm used to it by now I've always done my best always get great attendance on our pitch and never say its members only on here which I could but never would cause that's not the way to be..... It's a Webb based club with meets at shows stop the wingeing and use both... Sorry but rant over Andyhubbert ( ASH3 )

Not Anumber - 28/2/12 at 09:42 PM

Sorry Andy I didnt realise the site and the club were still active. How do i sign up ?

ASH3 - 28/2/12 at 09:51 PM

Hi go on the club site and click under the rotating
pic " become a member" follow the screen cheers

Not Anumber - 5/3/12 at 12:06 PM

Tried twice more, didnt work again. It processed the £ 10 charge but now says both my username and email address are unusable. A manual membership sign up process might be more reliable.

Not Anumber - 20/4/12 at 11:09 AM

The signup process is broken. No membership, no password, no access to the site and no replies when ive tried to recover my £ 20 via Paypal.
Be great if someone could take a look

Hi,
I have texed andy and matt so hopefully will be sorted out soon Mrs Ash3

saffy3607 - 1/5/12 at 02:55 PM

I got my money back from paypal

ASH3 - 1/5/12 at 06:36 PM

Sent a new batch of members cards out this week sorry for
any delay.

Not Anumber - 3/5/12 at 12:51 PM

Ive just received 2 sets of membership cards in different envelopes a couple of days apart. I'd rather have had 1 membership and the other £ 10 returned. Cant immediately see the logic in sending 2 membership packs for one member.

PAUL FISHER - 3/5/12 at 01:22 PM

I am sure someone will pay you a tenner for it, they will get more than that back with the saving they make on your insurance for being a club member, might be quicker than trying to get your money back.
I know Andy tries his best to keep everyone happy, but he has a full time job and a lifes other problems like everyone else, he took it on when no one else would to keep it active, he makes no money out of it, and puts alot of effort in for the shows etc
If you attend the shows, its £10 well spent in my opinion

Its good that people do run this in their spare time - and thats entirely the norm for car clubs though. I certainly agree it's not fair to criticise volunteers over petty stuff but volunteers still have to do things adequately or it all goes to hell in a handcart. I spent several years as a volunteer editing and producing a magazine for a classic car club (350 members) and later wrote technical articles for the Mercedes-Benz club (11,000 members). Whenever i made a mistake i never expected anyone to let me off the hook just becuase i worked full time, had a part time job on top and was dad to 3 kids- if I stuffed up i'd just take responsibility and clean up my own mess as club members deserved and expected a good level of service.
