MK Locost, Rollover Cage?
alfas - 16/10/17 at 10:15 PM

i was offered a MK....not an Indy...its a live axle car.....

drivetrain is escort mk2 (x/flow)...front wisbones are the typical MK, widetrack round-ish design. now the question:

does an Indy rollcage fit to such a car?

MK would be he people to tell you.

However I'd expect the chassis mounting points to be different between the two so perhaps not.

Again speak to MK themselves as they may be able to make and fit a suitable roll cage for the chassis.

I built myself an MK Indy, which was one of the last with Martin Keenan still at the helm. I believe the design you describe pre-dates the Indy so Martin himself may have more knowledge about it.

Not sure with the new MK but when it was Danny etc they would make the cages to fit any kit car in house.

i´m already in contact with them and waiting on their reply...the major task would be to manufacture a cage without the car.....

according to them it will be difficult to evaluate anything without having the car.

the reason is: the mk-locost was built during martin keenan ...so its quite old now and really rare.

the original plan was collecting the car, and on the way down south to dover ferry, passing at MK for any further steps.

situation has changed now and the car will be transported by a shipping company directly to me.
