Mid engined BEC
Twin40 - 25/7/13 at 01:06 PM

Hello lads,

I've got an Mk Indy R running a busa lump.

I would like to build an areo based mid engined car with a busa turbo

What chassis's are avaliable out there that would be suitable?

I'm leaning towards an AB Sabre, but wanted to know if there are other options. Pro's + Con's??

Cheers

C.

I was thinking of a Riot see:

Riot 1
Riot 1

A chap called Mal Mckay who is some part of Bingley constructed two Busa 1.3's they are awesome

Riot 2
Riot 2

I have been trying to get Jeremy to supply the drive train etc as Bingley have all the drawings!

Do you think an Audi V6 and transaxle would fit in there?

The only other one i could think of is the Spire Gt3....

Depends on the amount of money you want to spend tbh.

Spire and the Sabre are both very good cars but i don't think either has been engineered around a busa (although thats not to say that you can't fit one). Bear in mind that there's two versions of the Spire - the GTR and the more expensive GT3.

J15 maybe ?. MNR do the LMP and also a new front engined aero car (http://www.austengreenway.co.uk for pics)

My Spire GTR did have a Busa in it when I bought it last year. I swapped it out for a CBR1000RR to fit into class R in RGB, so it can definitely be done.

My car may well be for sale at the end of the year, possibly minus engine etc

An MK engineering Midi would do contact Martin Keenan at mk engineering not MK Sportscars 2 totally different companies although Martin is the founder of both
