Thermal switch temp in ZZR1100

I dont have the original thermal fan switch and cant find details on what temp it engages.
the service manual only has details for the thermostat.

Thermostat:
Valve opening temperature 80 84°C(176 183 OF)
Valve full opening lift more than 8 mm @95°C(203 OF)

What would be the best option?

Thermal switches available:

80°C on / 72°C off (± 2°C)
85°C on / 77°C off (± 2°C)
90°C on / 80°C off (± 2°C)
95°C on / 85°C off (± 2°C)
100°C on / 90°C off (± 2°C)
105°C on / 95°C off (± 2°C)
110°C on / 100°C off (± 2°C)

from that spec I would guess the 100/90 version

but wouldn't it be good if Kawasaki published parts catalogues, and you could just buy the correct switch...

but a different diagram indicates
27010-1372
so it may differ on the year of the bike

I cant use the original switch as the cooling hoses/rad have all been swapped out.




I've found an 3rd party original switch that says it switches on at 100C

that should work fine on the input side of the rad.

or you could get an adjustable one.

Just bare in mind the switching temp will depend where you put the switch. In the engine before the stat' it'll be on at 95-105⁰c, after the stat', in the top hose 90-100⁰c and in the rad 85-95⁰c might be what you'd commonly expect.

I know my R1 switches via the ECU from engine sensor at 105⁰c. Out of curiosity, I've had a test light on the rad mounted (90⁰ on) switch (just used as a bung) and that switches at virtually the same time.

An alternative is use a dual switching sensor. They're made for twin fans coming on at 2 temps. If the lower temp isn't good enough, swap the wires to the higher one.
