Kumho Tyres
adam_moore - 17/3/05 at 01:44 PM

I've just been offered a tasty alloy wheel deal at Halfords but with Kumho tyres. I was going to uprade these to toyo TS-1's but they slap a load extra on and the deal isn't so inviting. My question is are the khumo tyres any good to start with until i upgrade later in the summer to another tyre? I expect they will only be used in the dry. I think they are ecsta's.

Any experience would be appreciated?

Hi

I have a couple of Kumho's on the GTi and have not had any problems in wet, dry etc.

Seem fine.

Cheers

Mark

had kumho all round on my supra on 17's. No suspension mods and grip was well improved. That said it still drifted like a boat, but i think thats more to do with the car

Great tire for the money, I even have them on my 750il.
I haven't tried the 750il in the snow yet, but the ecsta's I had on on a couple different cars were simply horrid in the snow - but other than that no complaints.

Got a set on the Galant--seemed a great tire for the money but flat spotted badly after a single panic stop.

Probably worth it at £20 a corner but I wouldn't shell out any more.

Cheers, Ted
