When you mention DDR and mid-engines what first came into my mind was the Melkus RS1000, the only sports car from East-Germany.

Agreed it does look very nice, but there is minimal actual useful info. on the site......pics of the chassis, suspension, etc would be nice.....
My guess is it's a long way off production...I could be wrong of course....
The windscreen would cost a fortune to have tooled up, then how many to offset that against?

I remember DDR coming onto the Attack forum (don't get me started), and in essence trolling for customers. Several years ago it was "nearly
ready"...
If they're really going to make a go of selling a kitcar they'd better make dang sure their site is 100% top notch - which it isn't.
This, right from the start, gives a very poor impression of them as a viable corporate entity. I guess over the years I've come to have a very
harsh and skeptical opinion of the kitcar industry. Some characters who think they'll make tons of money just because they have a car idea they
like. Too much enthusiasm, too little business smarts.

Thanks for that Steve, it reminds me of my original irritation with this outfit. That is, they had the nerve to claim they didn't copy any car
and that it's a combination of many ideas from Ferrari, Porsche, blah blah blah... yet they left out one car in particular. One car that if it
were put next to their's everyone would say, "hey, that's nearly an exact copy." The car in question is the McLaren F1. Odd how
they somehow negleted to mention it. Guess it's clear I get annoyed when people don't give credit where credit is due, and trying to pass
it off as thier own... wrong.
Yeah I know they'd say it's "completely different." Maybe on the inside, but they clearly took McLaren's lead and claim they
came up with it. Boo!

As I keep saying when new kits appear like this, how the hell anybody can try to start selling a kit car with a straight face when they don't
even have a running finished example is beyond me.

I was also annoyed by their blatent copy and then claiming inspiration from every other supercar other than the F1.
Of cause if they did admit inspiration from the F1 then Mclaren would probably close them down...... I understand they are signfificanly harsher than
Ferrari at protecting their brand.
They have made a nice looking McLaren F1 shape lookalike.
Maybe making an 'ORIGINAL' design body shape that people like is just too difficult? Or is it too risky for the amount of effort and money
required?
I don't know - since I haven't tried copying anyone elses design.

Call me the odd one out, but I thought "hmmm that looks like a tweaked and modernised in appearance Nova (as in Richard Oakley kitcar).
Of course I may be biased owning one thats currently sawn into 8 lumps in the name of middy v8 conversion...

Is it self made or did you use parts of other bodywork?
I am in the thinking and designing part of my V12 project.
I took body parts that were close to what I wanted (although as it turns out they are knowere near) I then cut and shut then to make the base for the buck...... I find it easier to start from something and move to what I want than to start with a clean sheet.
Im suprised they havent been taken to court already.
Ive just looked at a picture of both. The DDR is so close to the mclaren right down to extra arch lips and everything. The only real difference is the
side air intakes on the DDR, but looked at from the side they will look close to the F1.
Nice shape, wouldnt buy one though.
