Having a right load of fun and games with the DVLA (there's a surprise!)... So far taken three V5's to start getting close to a correct document from them but still don't think it's right.

Donor was 1986 sierra, kit was registered with age related plate this July (same 'C' reg, but not exact same reg), but my V5c still shows:

a) 5 former keepers (as the donor V5c showed),
b) Still shows the name and address off the former donor keeper
c) Date of first registeration as '86
d) Date of first registeration in the UK as '86.

Can anyone tell me if all of this is incorrect or just some of it (maybe none???).

I've read that c) might stay the same as the donor, but d) might become 2011, ie reg data of the kit.... but not sure if that was talking about an import, not a kitcar....

Any advice before I send their requested 'covering letter' back to them would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

My car was based on a 1980 doner and registered in 2006 on an age related plate.
It reads:
0 former keepers (It is the chassis that is registered, not the donor parts)
My address is the registered keeper
Date of first registration 1980
Date of first registation in the UK 2006
The last two may be reversed

It reads:

Date of first registration 2004
Date of first registration in the UK 2004

IMHO, assuming you had enough point from the donor, you should have:

Age-related reg but not the same as the donor (as you have)
Date of first registration: 2011
Date of first registration in the UK: 2011
No. of former keepers 0

As above, it is the "new" car that is being registered, so it can't have any former keepers, etc.

Spoke to the seller of an MK Indy first registered (UK) in jan 2010 and subsequently exported to Spain in jun 2011.
Because the paperwork from UK recorded the 1984 Sierra diff' the Spanish have classed it as an '84 car which is good and bad.
Good because as a car older than 25 yrs, no road tax is payable, it's classed as a 'classic.'
Good because as a classic, the owner pays 160 euros/yr insurance.
Bad because it's an '84 car with a 2009 R1 bike engine and he's having difficulty drumming up interest in his sale.
