After the third attempt ( front to rear brake balance) my car has passed the IVA

What a drive, 124 miles in windy wet conditions, thankful for fixed head coupe

Thanks to all that have helped and all the build threads that help resolve issues.

Merry Chrimbo everyone

2 1/2 years in my ownership, 18 years with the previous person

CosKev3 - 30/12/13 at 08:39 PM

18 years!

That was a long term project.

Nickp - 30/12/13 at 08:40 PM

Is it fast mister??

Acc8braman - 30/12/13 at 08:44 PM

I know lol.

Tbh, he bought the kit in 1991, spent 10 years building and let it sit for 8 whilst his children were growing up and lost interest.

It's one of those kits that require a lot fabricating which he had done thankfully.

There was a lot of undoing and redoing, replacing suspension, bushes, brakes, wiring etc.

A lot of time was spent on the body trying to get it right and the interior as close as poss.

The vosa tester was an excellent chap, very helpful

ReMan - 30/12/13 at 09:00 PM

That's very smart
Not an easy car to get right either
more bad ones than good ones imho
Well done

Piooly - 1/1/14 at 11:32 AM

That looks fantastic, I am very jealous, well done

Acc8braman - 14/1/14 at 06:25 AM

Hi All,

I posted my docs to Swansea on the 30th.

How long do you think I should wait before chasing my registration up?

Cheers

Steve

daveb666 - 14/1/14 at 08:00 AM

14days is "the rule" but I'd be on the phone today.

Acc8braman - 14/1/14 at 08:52 AM

Thanks Dave,

14 days is today but wondering if its 14 working days?!

Will update later

daveb666 - 14/1/14 at 08:56 AM

I waited 5 days! - and the DVLA confirmed they lost all my documentation. I was fobbed off for a further 5 days before I wrote a letter to the Chief Exec of the DVLA and the day after my docs were found.

Acc8braman - 14/1/14 at 12:21 PM

Rang them, they said the 31st is not classed as a work day for them, so asked me to call back at the end of the week.

Not even willing to take details from me regarding my forms!!

daveb666 - 14/1/14 at 12:28 PM

Doh. I'd rather have that outcome than have not tried at all

Call them Thursday lol

Acc8braman - 15/1/14 at 05:34 PM

Rang them, this time they searched the system and stated its being processed and should be with me in 10 days?!

What's happening with their 14 Day SLA??

They still haven't cashed the cheque and nothing is coming up on DLVA Reg checker

davidimurray - 15/1/14 at 06:21 PM

My experience was they don't do anything until day 14, if they find a problem then they write a letter, that takes 2 days to make it into the post which is then 2nd class, so in my case was about 20 days before I even heard from them. I had reg, tax disc and v5 10 days before the cheque left my account! If you get really stuck drop me a u2u as they accidentally gave me the contact details for one of the 'case workers'

AndyW - 15/1/14 at 07:00 PM

I chased mine up and had a very helpful lady called Shelley, I just copied this from an e-mail I sent her. (I was able to scan and send docs to her but that's as I wanted a Q plate)

Might be worth a call as there is a direct number.

Good luck

her details are:

Thanks Andy.
Thanks Dave

Will call that number tomorrow

I'm after donor age related plate with my private reg on it. Bit worries as been checking to see if the private reg is registered yet on the dvla site and it isn't, really don't want a q, nothing against them but will really devalue my replica

Acc8braman - 16/1/14 at 01:00 PM

Lol, why did I choose white!

Have white cotton covers for the seats for journeys and then take off

Acc8braman - 22/1/14 at 12:32 PM

Received all my receipts back, less my Driving License!!!

Called them up and they asked if I checked the envelope it was sent it!!!! Idiots!!!

Now I have to write a letter to them explaining I didn't receive it back and they have lost it!

Complete waste of my time FFS!

Acc8braman - 22/1/14 at 12:32 PM

Sorry, little rant there, its my 1st day of none smoking
