Master Cylinder

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade the master cylinder on my F27. I am looking for a firmer pedal.
Pictures of the current cylinder below.
Any suggestions?

That looks like 74660018 on the mcyl body. That's the casting part number. Could be an old Fiesta mcyl. Will check my info. Do you know what your bore size is?

No idea on the bore size.
Is there an easy way of measuring this?

If you have excess pedal travel check the rear adjusters haven't slipped back -- you can usually hear the brake shoes move if they have and check for seized piston in the front calipers.

On M16 calipers a stuck pston or pad gives excess pedal travel -- it has distictive springy feel. With a stuck piston the pedal travel increases as the pads wear unevenly.
The same symptoms occur if the guide pins are seized with Sierra style floating calipers also if the spring retaing clip is not fitted properly.

Girling mcyl p/n appears to be 74066009 (for the assembly), and according to records is 22.2mm ID. Cannot locate which vehicle it was originally fitted to.

Does anyone know what I can replace with?
