Bedding in Brake Pads
Barksavon - 26/4/17 at 08:05 AM

How do you guys go on with bedding in a new set of brake pads on your cars that are used for track days etc only (ie not used on the roads)
Not sure whether its wise to put a brand new set of pads on to then go straight on the track
Many Thanks

I have had to replace pads at lunch time on 2 trackdays now (Both times at Silverstone GP arena), and find that its actually a better way to bed in than on road.

I'd say the ideal time to bed new pads in would be at the end of a trackday, (When the old ones are done) That would allow plenty of time to cool properly. Must admit though, I've never managed to be so organised, and usually just do the bedding in process as best as poss on the first session of a day, then allow them to cool for as long as possible, before giving them full beans!
