Floppy pedals
Matt21 - 11/5/17 at 04:46 PM

I'm having a bit of an issue with my pedals lately, I haven't noticed it before but now it is really bugging me.

Mainly the throttle pedal, when I'm not on it the pedal flops forward which puts it 2inchs+ in front of the brake, which is really annoying when you're trying to get back on it!
The clutch is doing it slightly too, but not as bad.

Throttle is the same as this,

It has a small spring at the bottom which helps pull the throttle off, but there is nother stopping the pedal falling forwards.

Am I missing something obvious or how do people stop this happening?

L shaped bit of metal under the pivot bolt to act as a forward stop. At least that is what I did simple and seems to work well.

So it would be bolted in with the pivot bolt? then you just adjust the position of it to set the stop?

Mine has a m6 bolt behind the lower half, which acts a stop. I put a large sleeve around it, which in turn moved the pedal back.

I needed to do that as i kept hitting the throttle as i was jumping on the brake.

How do you find the heel rest you fitted? Is there anything you would change? As im about to fit one.

I've used lightweight pull springs to pull them back towards the bulkhead, as some manufacturers do, took mine from the donor car, also takes up any slack in cables and linkages.
