Replacement throttle cable
Shiggins92 - 16/7/17 at 10:08 AM

Unfortunately snapped the end block connecting the cable to the pedal yesterday which ended up with me doing it by hand to get home

Before I buy this which looks to be exactly the same:

Can anyone recommend a stronger one or is this one pretty reliable?

That cable is plenty strong enough. I would guess that your problem may be lack of a pedal stop, allowing
strain on the cable clevis. Also check that at full throttle the clevis isn't being forced down by the pedal, I had to
cut a notch out of the pedal to stop this happening.

Venhill.co.uk

Their universal kits are the business, however, to reiterate, make sure the pedal hits a stop when the throttle body is full travel or you might damage something more expensive than the cable :-)

Thanks for the replies that might have been the problem, I havent had it long so i think little adjustments etc need to be made as its freshly built.

As for the venhill they dont do a 1.5m cable unfortunately or anything close to 53 inch.

I did look on ebay and they are really cheap but I just don't trust them and I think I am better off paying more from mksportscars.com

Thanks for the help!

Buy the 2m, it is designed to be cut to any length to suit

Looking at it, it looks like you are able to cut down the hose but not the cable as it has the blocks on either end

On the universal cable you have to solder the end on yourself to suit.

ahh I think I have found the one you are talking about on their website is it the £50 one?

Ebay item 171575323355

£13

1.35m long, do a search on ebay if you need the longer kit (or braided)

you could always use a rear brake cable from a bike, you should only need to replace the inner cable, with the nipple on the throttle end held on with a grub screw.

I used this one LINK and the necessary fittings from the same place.
Although if the one from MK was the same as yours, it would be easier to fit that, and adjust the pedal stop.
