Propshaft angle

Just put a pinto in my locost chassis, and realised that the centre line of the gearbox output shaft is 25mm lower than the centre of the diff flange.
Both are running parrallel with each other.
Will the propshaft be able to deal with this difference.
I cannot go any higher with the engine to make them the same.

Absolutely, they are designed to run like that - providing youir phasing is correct (which it should be, because the holes on the flanges are offset to ensure you can't get it wrong!).

I did know about UJ angles but not the pulse effect

The other VERY important angle that seems ignored is the angle each uj moves through. It should not be more than 3 degrees, so on short props it can be an issue.
Caused my prop to fail, and 600 miles from home. And a days work to move engine/gearbox mounts etc

I've jacked up the engine to reduce the distance a bit more. It's reduced to about 20mm now.
I've drawn it out full size and made the gap 25mm to give me room for any mistakes, and measured the angle over the length which is 620mm and it works out about 3 degrees. Which I gather is the magic number.
