Anyone know this Quinten hazel part number?

I am after a handbrake cable but the seller on ebay does not know if it is Drum or disc.
He has given me this part number : QH Ref BC2277 for a Rover 214

I am hoping BC stands for Brake caliper!

Can someone confirm this?

it shows that BC is the generic code for all their brake cables, both Disc and Drum types.
It shows the part number you are looking for, but unfortunately it doesn't state whether it is drums or discs.

its for the old 213/216 rover 1984/1989, pretty sure none of them had rear discs, so will be drum lengths 1495 / 1301

if you really want to know, ring your local halfords and ask them to look up the cable for disks and for drums.

they only stock quinton hazell cables, and if not, should be able to find a part number......assuming you don't speak to the weekend staff

QH parts lists are avialable for down load.

All Rover 214 are drum only the higher performance models have discs on the rear.

The rear cables for the 200 & 25 with discs are
BC2262 & BC2263 ----- 1990 to 95
BC2700 & BC2701 ---- 95 to 2004

NB different numbers for lefand right.

The cables for the 45 with discs are even shorter.

That is strange because my donor for the F1-2 was a Rover 214 SLi and it had rear discs.

214Sli should have 8 inch drums and small unvented front discs.

Even the 216Sli should have rear drums -- although later cars had 9 inch drums.

Rear discs were only fitted as standard to the 216GTi and the 220.

I bought a 95 214 SLi and it had rear discs.
The car had only done 21K until someone T-boned it! More good news for me.
I am basing the MotaLeira on the same hub and brakes (the carriers are custom) except I am using vented discs on the front with wilwoods.
I'm sticking to standard calipers and handbrake for the rear.
