Hate to wee on your chips, but it will never be tax exempt under the current scheme. Only cars built Pre '73 are eligible.

Sorry to hijack the thread but will it be a rolling 40 year tax exemption or have they just moved it forwards one year ?

Our mini is s 1976 so I hope its a rolling plan, 2 years until tax free maybe ?

Just moved one year - petition for rolling exemption here: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/49330

Should have known !

Thats hardly generous, it moves 1 year - 17 years after they changed their minds :-(

They didn't change their minds - the Tories announced it in 94 (as a rolling exemption), then Labour won the election in 97 and froze it at Jan 1973.
