Midas Mk2 for sale......maybe
Nickp - 16/4/18 at 02:46 PM

This wasn't the plan, but my Midas may be available for sale. It was supposed to be my poor weather track car but I don't really fit with my helmet on unless I open or remove the sunroof, which kinda defeats the object!!

Mini based kit car weighing about 600kgs. All the go kart like fun of a Mini with none of the rust issues. It's a full fibreglass shell that the Mini front subframe bolts directly into.

The car has been fully recommissioned with a huge list of new parts and was MOT'd last month.

Engine-
1301cc (+030) A series
Gas flowed head (just had a light skim and new HG)
Piper cam + electronic ignition dizzy
Torquemaster inlet and HIF44 SU
LCB exhaust manifold + big bore exhaust
3.4:1 final drive and quick shifter
Compression test shows 160+psi on all cyls

Stainless fuel tank
Facet type fuel pump and Filter King regulator

Stainless rear beam
Spax rear coilovers
Front Hi-Lo's

VW Polo alloy rad + new heater matrix

Mini 8.4" front discs and EBC Greenstuff pads

All new brake and clutch hydraulics

4 x new 165/60/12 Falken ZE914 on Minilight alloys

The body needs painting but is rock solid and a blank canvas for someone to do to their own taste.
Interior is OK, has MG Metro front seats and a very small rear seat trimmed to match. Dash could do with retrimming, but there's a big roll of grey vinyl to do just that.

A lot of time and effort has gone into getting it to where it is now, just needs tidying up or drive it as it is.

If you think this is something that's of interest to you then please feel free to contact me.

Price would be £3K, no offers.

How tall are you Nick? And does it have a cage in it?

About 6ft1. No it doesn't have a cage but I was going to fit a half cage / single hoop if I keep it. I'd also either fit some sort of double bubble roof or try some fibreglass shell seats to gain a bit more headroom. Doing this might spoil a nice little car though so I thought I'd offer it out first.

I was also planning a turbo conversion which would certainly be lively

Provisionally sold, awaiting collection. Looks like it's off to live in France
