Beware "Marcjagman"
TimC - 11/1/12 at 04:58 PM

Out of interest, did anyone else get ripped off by this MoFo?

Still owed money, unread U2U, still logging on, sent recorded delivery letter....
Zilch received.

He's amazingly not posting here anymore but plenty of activity on the V8 Owners Forum.

Avoid like the plague people! I've ceased being bitter. Thankfully things are good now, but when I sent him the parts I was near-penniless and out of work. What a waster!

TC

but you have his address?

jossey - 11/1/12 at 05:10 PM

CRAZY thoughts......

philw - 11/1/12 at 05:16 PM

^
Why would he want to play football with him?

TimC - 11/1/12 at 05:17 PM

You want me to send the former Welsh football captain round? Not sure i still have his number...

I am not likely to jeopardise my good name over something like this. I just wanted to warn others in case he's still operating on here via U2U.

jossey - 11/1/12 at 05:26 PM

Good work on the warning.

Ill post this warning on the V8 site too :O)

ps where in country does he live?

PPS

rather than the last image how about this one.....

JoelP - 11/1/12 at 06:07 PM

pontefract, yorkshire was his stated location. Shame really, he seemed an alright sort of chap, which just shows that you shouldnt judge a cover by its book!

You dont expect to get rinsed by a fairly well established member.

T66 - 11/1/12 at 06:26 PM

Have a look on facebook for him, some dont bother securing their accounts.

Theiving sh1t - Not funny when you can afford the loss, just bad crack when your not working.

Does he not have a similar ebay ID ? so you could buy all his crap in error ?

jossey - 11/1/12 at 07:30 PM

Can't we drop round? No law against delivering a ccj form lol

MakeEverything - 11/1/12 at 07:56 PM

I would drop round to see him I think, if it were me.

I know this happened to me by someone when I had just joined and I was skint and ended up out of pocket in regard to parts and beers etc...................

Probably realise he's bigger than you and decide to leave it.

Seriously, why do people allude "going round there to sort him out"...?

His e-bay account is no longer valid, user name: marcjagman, location: West Yorkshire

looks like the last 3 transactions were all negative.....

obviously been caught out so closed account, then probably re-opened under another name and continues to rip people off....

Benzo - 11/1/12 at 09:54 PM

I sold him some bits and he was no trouble at all!

CRAIGR - 11/1/12 at 10:04 PM

Pulled this extract from one of his posts. Don't know the guy and not making excuses but perhaps he has other things on his mind.

"I agree, what chance will I have when I start to look for work again, already in my mid 40's and when I have to stop looking after my wife (who is on borrowed time) ".

No doubt - and the tone of my letter was VERY understanding. BUT he's obviously building, active on other forums and seems to have curtailed his posts here in-line with the arrears. What does that tell you?

Find out what's going on, and why there had been no response. Friend of yours?

Have you reread the u2us and the thread from the time? Having just done so, i dont think i was unfair.

This thread as the prelude:

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=58867&page=1

Subsequently turned out id counted the wrong end, and these quotes from u2us:

by me:

quote:

Cant help you with the money on service parts, but i'll pay for the beer and refund half the fuel. Sound fair?

Sorry mate.

Joel.

and your reply:

quote:

I can't in any way ask for any money back for fuel etc. It would be one of the worst things ever to start out a day to do someone a favour and then it ending up costing you money...
I managed to take the service parts back, but obviously can't get the petrol back, so how about next time we're at an event together the beers are on you?

Which, to be honest, just made me think that if you didnt want money back, you were just trying to make me feel bad for a mistake.

I dont know if you are just being facetious or if you actually bear a grudge over the event?

norfolkluego - 12/1/12 at 01:08 AM

But to put this in perspective I've bought and sold lots of stuff on here and never had a problem, always found everyone 100% genuine

D Beddows - 12/1/12 at 09:04 AM

I've sold some bodywork to him/met him - he does genuinely have a very ill wife (MS I seem to recall - one hell of an actress if she doesn't) - I know because she was in the car when he collected the stuff so that bits not bullsh*t. He seemed an ok guy, got the impression he was a bit of a 'chancer' and he did gently rip me off for a £15 set of cycle wings tbh - but he did seem to genuinely care for his wife so I don't think he's all bad - absolutely no excuse for ripping Tim off though

Irony - 12/1/12 at 09:13 AM

I sold a LT77 and another gearbox to him and he turned up at my house in a old Sierra. He seemed a nice enough guy and we chatted about cars and stuff for quite awhile.

As said before his wife is very ill and she didn't even get out the car. I was surprised as he stopped chatting for ages and when we dropped the gearboxes in his car she was sitting in the passenger seat.

My dealings with him were generally very good and he seemed a nice enough guy. All my dealings with locosters have been fantastic and I don't thing I have met a nicer bunch of people since joining the site.

jossey - 12/1/12 at 09:15 AM

I think its a shame cos people on here have helped me out so much and I havent had any issues before.

Its not the norm on here so it shouldnt make people wary about selling on here but it does mean you need to keep an eye out for the scammers as you do on any website/ auction site.

Maybe we need a list of people not to trust on here like a DONT buy from llist.

Its a shame the world has come to this......

Neville Jones - 13/1/12 at 11:54 AM

A twist on the old grass seed trick, but with paint stripper on the roof and bonnet of his car. Pick whatever word you like.

Absolutely no excuse for ripping folks off. If you can't pay, don't buy.

Leave a litre of emulsion and a roller, so he can cover the words up, just to show you are polite.

Cheers,
Nev.

Confused but excited. - 13/1/12 at 12:53 PM

Just to play Devil's advocate for a moment. . .

If, as has been stated, his wife is terminally ill, then his head will be totally wrecked. Things will get away from him.
I know how I felt when I had to watch my wife die of cancer. And yes I still logged on here, as it was the only place that I could escape to for a few moments of normality.
Yes, people left me messages and to be honest as I can, I just couldn't be arsed replying. My milk bill was over £100 and that was at £6 a week. He didn't hassle me, God bless him.
I am not seeking to justify his behaviour, just stop and think before you get all vigilanty on his arse. If it's end game, he may be in a living hell.

I agree.

This has been nearly a year now though. Im all for cutting slack (i even suggested it 8 months ago), but you reach a point where a line must be drawn. It is definately a pisstake now.
