Anyone know where there's a maestro/montego rotting away?
StrikerChris - 30/6/15 at 07:31 PM

The servo has gone on my mg maestro, which is my daily driver. After as much googling I can cope with im beginning to think 2nd hand is the only way I'll find one. The only part numbers ive found are here servo one of which is brake engineering down the road from me. Went to them direct and its been discontinued for a while.
There must be one somewhere tho!
Any help appreciated

Chris

I thought they changed to girling with the montego?
It was the first newish car I had and it did 200k before I sold it best bl car

Cheers!

Unusual for these to fail it usually the one way valve or the master cylinder.
The cylinder is of the Girling pattern closest you may find easily is the early Land rover 90/110/defender

I hoped it would be the oneway valve but no.also hoped it was one of the lip seals on the rods as could source them through work possibly so split the unit even though its sealed.diaphram has split where cant even use a bike tyre patch but was worth a try. I too was hoping it would be used on many bl range but from what I can find its not.
Id be happy to be proved wrong tho.

Ps thanks for the ebay addy. I emailed the 3 listed breaking maestro's I could find earlier
Edit it is a girling fitted yeah.but the non resealable type.

There was a Maestro van up on axle stands in a driveway near me . If the servo is the same I can knock on their door and see if they will sell the servo. May not be able to remove it for a while due to convalescing at the moment

I'll see what I can find in my barn in the next couple of days. It's a Maestro/Montego grave yard.

Ooooh!! Your barn looks ve-e-e-ery interesting. Loadsa oldish stuff - but of more interest, what's the van in the background? Looks like an oldish vehicle.

And the black(?) mid-engined car, on the right, partially hidden under, er something?

Looks like a Midtec Spider in there, possibly a Dutton behind that!

Maestros!
saw one out on the Moffat Classic car run last week, did 260k miles in MG Maestros back in the day. Pretty quick for the time and a completely free company car.......
I'm getting old.
