Engine for locost

I'm after an engine for my locost.
I have a pinto fitted at present. Looking for zetec or duratec preferably, but anything considered.

Quite a bit of difference in conversion cost between zetec and duratec.

Zetec will bolt onto current gearbox but exhaust is on the other side. Blacktop zetec needs new water pump impeller or idler pulley, sliver top just needs early escort Non ac/ps pump.
Duratec, exhaust on right side but gearbox will need new bell housing. Duratec is quite tall aswell.

What you planning for fuel, if going injection you will need a return pipe and injection pump as a minimum.

Vauxhall xe sometimes come up, what about 1.8 mx5 with "free gearbox that is better than the type 9?

Hope that helps.

I have a 1800cc Zetec for sale with a set of 40's and DTA ECU in 'for sale' section.

I have a prepped, ported GSXR1000 K3 engine - along with a complete wiring loom (etc., etc.) ready to fit.
Along with that, a complete Westfield-fitting Tony Law exhaust system that's seen very little action (like the engine).

You'd need to sort out a collection of tube to mount the engine, a propshaft, a propshaft flange and to consider if your differential ratio is up to it (3.36-3.21 ideal).
