I'm looking for something small and RWD for a bike engine project.
Ideally something like a Vauxhall Chevette, Talbot Sunbeam or Toyota Starlet.
Does anyone know of anything, preferably within a 100 mile radius of Ipswich.
Or can anyone suggest any other makes/models that might be worth looking at?

fiat 126 would be a good candidate i would have thought? rare now though.
anything steel will be far too heavy for a bike engine without a turbo, an r1 mini is no quicker than my kitten despite me being 50hp down against the r1 engine.

Get asking around your locall farms.
My job takes me to lotts of farms across the area and I see loads. One near me has five Mk5 cortinas and at least 50 asorted other cars from the
70's to the 90's.
On another farm, he had over 300 
to feed a small used car garage.
The banger boys can be a good source.
The locall paper has adverts for scrap cars collected. Often by the banger boys. Give them a ring and tell them what your after.
If your paying more than scrap there is alyays a deal to be done.

Bedford Rascal or Suzuki super carry van's are RWD. would make a cool bike engined project and drift car!!

ditto above, mine is pretty good up to 60mph and will outrun most cars but above that its a bit limp and thats with 260bhp/tonne . i had a z cars r1
mini in for test and on my rollers it weighed 650kg with a fibreglass front end
my car is 460kg with a couple of gallons of fuel in it

Something like a ZX12, Hayabusa, etc will be be very quick in something weighing 700kg or less, ideally no more than 600kg.
While I agree getting the car as light as possible is especially important for bec, I don't agree that it has to be 400kg or it's not worth

physics comes into it too ,getting from standstill to 60 is one thing but its the real world acceleration that shows up a bike engined cars achiles heel, from 50 to 100 a road car with 250+hp will pull away from a bec due to having more outright power to push the car against the wind.
Engine will be a zzr1100 so 140bhp to start.
Will only be n/a till next winter and then 250 bhp turbo conversion with plenty more torque. I'm sure it will be fast enough.
