Quite a number of young offender's institutions build MKs as something productive for the inmates to do. I know of one that has had to stop as they can't sell them on as easily as they did in the past. My money is on this one having been built in the same way.
I went to view it....it was actually previously owned by Huddersfield university and built by a student.
I was very tempted to make a deal however the engine hadnt been started in a long while (not since fitted to the car), it needed all the wiring
sorting and it needed sva etc. As i'm a complete kit car novice + dont have a tow bar/trailer and the nearest sva station is nottingham, i
decided to look for a complete car 
Sellers a very nice guy though, someone will get a real bargain there
