Cheap tintop tyres
sdh2903 - 7/4/16 at 09:11 AM

Just been perusing for some new tyres for the mrs focus in size 235/40/18. Now I suspect that it's a glitch but mytyres.co.uk are listing some premium brand tyres at very low prices! I had been looking at 100-120 each for decent brand tyres and yet they have continentals, pirelli, dunlop and Bridgestone at 35-40 each with free delivery!

I've just banged in an order for 4 Dunlop sport maxx rt 2 for 139 delivered! I only needed a pair but at that price it'd be rude not to. Suppose will just wait and see if they turn up or I get a call to say the websites wrong.

MikeRJ - 7/4/16 at 09:34 AM

I see what you mean, there's a lot of tyres in all sizes with stupidly low prices. They seem too low to be real, I wonder if the website got hacked?

nick205 - 7/4/16 at 09:46 AM

Maybe just me, but 235/40 R18 seem huge for a Focus (unless it's an RS or something)!

I've not purchased from My Tires (always bought Dunlops from Kwik Fit) as I always wonder about the cost and implications of getting them fitted. Probably daft as they wouldn't be in business if it didn't work.

I've just ordered from there too, I used paypal so it should be easy to get a refund if it goes tits up.

Yeah they are a big old tyre. Most modern cars have larger wheels and tyres now. It's only a zetec-s diesel but has managed to chew through a set of Michelin Ps3 on the front in 10k miles.

joneh - 7/4/16 at 10:06 AM

Just ordered 4 tyres for the Jeep

See if they turn up...

Agreed, wheel size has increased, but they still seem very large to me for a Focus.

sdh2903 - 7/4/16 at 10:16 AM

I would have dropped to 225 40 18 as it's sod all difference but 20-30% cheaper. However it's a lease car so didn't want any hassle when returning it.

tul214 - 7/4/16 at 10:23 AM

Just ordered 2 for my wifes Mini. Let's wait and see!

nick205 - 7/4/16 at 10:28 AM

Agreed, with leased cars it's worth keeping them as they came!

I used to have co. cars, which were leased over 3 years. Luckily the lease included road tax and tyres etc. On a Seat Leon 150bhp diesel I went through tyres like chocolates and Kwik Fit never complained about them. I even killed a brand new tyre on day one in a pot hole and they didn't moan when replacing it. It upset me enormously the waste, but Kwik Fit just put a new trye on and waved me on my way. On another car (bloody awful Volvo V50) the lease company got quite upset when I gave it back having peeled all the badges off it

ETA...I also changed the VOLVO letters on the back so it read OVLOV. Made me and a number of other drivers chuckle, but not the lease people

Just paid £36 for two tyres for the Passat, most of the office is now on the site ordering. Even the massive tyres for my truck are only £42. Somethings going on.

sdh2903 - 7/4/16 at 11:20 AM

Definitely a cock up somewhere. Maybe I shouldve kept quiet mine might have sneaked through.....

joneh - 7/4/16 at 11:28 AM

Think the offer should be 30% off, but they've been knocked down to 30%.

Just hoping the warehouse is merrily sending stuff out!

carpmart - 7/4/16 at 12:13 PM

Someone has posted it on Hot UK Deals so they will be absolutely flooded with sales at the moment

Madinventions - 7/4/16 at 12:58 PM

4 x 195x50xR15 Toyo R1R's for £100? Bargain!

carpmart - 7/4/16 at 01:06 PM

I can see them just cancelling all orders based on the sheer volume that they are likely to receive now.

Our best hope is that they just cut off and honour what they have taken...

ian locostzx9rc2 - 7/4/16 at 01:09 PM

I ordered 4 goodyears for my car for £102 quid bargain if they turn up.....just gone back on to see if I could get some for my son all the prices have gone up again

carpmart - 7/4/16 at 01:22 PM

I was just trying to order some more for the wife Range Rover, but prices are back up to 'normal' again...

CosKev3 - 7/4/16 at 01:23 PM

Summat fishy with the paypal payment imo.

Just placed an order for £93,paypal is on a separate link and was going to take £238

mcerd1 - 7/4/16 at 01:50 PM

They just sent me an e-mail with an extra 5% discount code to apply at the checkout...

I got some from them a couple of years back (no one else had stock of the ones I wanted) they came from Germany in less than a week and I never had any problems

I used kwik-fit once - on a sunday afternoon when everywhere else was shut and I was desperate...
I know too many people that have been ripped off by them (and farmers too) not to mention the horror stories of doggy work - and that's just from people I know

The local tyre place I use are happy enough to fit tyres I've got elsewhere (at least every now and then) but they do charge a couple of £ more per tyre than normal (fair enough really as they are loosing out on the sale of the tyre)

joneh - 7/4/16 at 02:09 PM

Balls! My order has just been cancelled due to the mistake.

sdh2903 - 7/4/16 at 02:53 PM

Yup mine too. Bugger

carpmart - 7/4/16 at 02:55 PM

I guess we can all expect a mail then....

carpmart - 7/4/16 at 02:57 PM

My hope is that they are going through a manual process and that they see £500 and trysts at 80 each and don't twig... I can live in hope....LOL

ian locostzx9rc2 - 7/4/16 at 03:14 PM

My orders just been cancelled bugger ...

BigFaceDave - 7/4/16 at 03:20 PM

Mine too, isn't there a law saying they have to supply them or something like that? I'm not going to kick off or anything, after all we're all just trying to make a living but I thought there was

ian locostzx9rc2 - 7/4/16 at 03:23 PM

No they can cancel the order if there's a mistake I have checked.

COREdevelopments - 7/4/16 at 03:46 PM

Dam!!

carpmart - 7/4/16 at 04:23 PM

Can I invoice them for the time their pseudo offer response has Cost me... At least 20 mins finding the right tyres....

sdh2903 - 7/4/16 at 05:10 PM

The cynic in me is saying this is all a ploy for some marketing and a shed load of email addresses to harass. I mean seriously who releases a website without checking their prices? Hey ho think we all knew it was too good to be true

Brook_lands - 7/4/16 at 05:31 PM

It was the 4 or 5 hours it appear to take to sort it out that got me. I was convinced it was a scam site or the site had been hacked and mytyres had lost control because I could believe if it really was the mytyres site they would have taken it down as soon as the order started flooding in with the wrong prices being charged.
