Hi All
I am looking at getting a plasma cutter for work we want a cutter that will cut up to 12mm thick steel, dose any one have recommendation on type and model to look at we also want it to cut aluminium from 18g to 5mm thick

hypertherm...............

top tool knife through butter on most materials. ask you local rep on thickness/amp ratings. we got one and its a hell of a tool.

Another vote for hypertherm - we have a single phase 30 amp for general workshop use (cutting big holes in vans.....) and a three phase 45 amp in the fab shop - goes through 1" steel with ease , and I regularly cut 12mm ally with it
I have a chinese claimed 40 amp one at home , its OK for the price (£180 !) but its no hypertherm

an esab machine with a hypertherm power source is hard to beat
