Caliper paint?
coozer - 15/7/17 at 08:48 PM

Took the front brakes off dobbie this morning to find the pad carriers a bit rusty... one of the sliders seized... that'll be the screeching noise then... doh!

Anyway, they are in the electrolysis bath atm and I thought I might paint then before i put then back on...

Am I have is some stove paint, good to 450c it says but my stove in the house is regularly a lot hotter than that and it's ok...

Reckon this stuff will be ok on the brake carriers?

I've found smothrite and Rust Oleum metal paints are fine on calipers on road cars,it's only once you go on track it discolours from the heat.

So stove paint will be fine

The brake fluid inside them and the seals are probably only good to about 190 deg so don't get too hung up with high temp paint.

I spray mine with 2k, but have the kit to do so safely.

Otherwise I'd just use a good cellulose paint and call it done. They wont get hot enough to damage it.
