ricklawn - 20/7/08 at 09:04 AM

Morning all
My computer is playing up big style, when i start it up it says there is a problem with "Disk C" and it runs checks on it that takes forever. i have got avg and system doctor( both free versions) i have just run system doctor and it says i have Half a dozen Trojens and other associated viruses. i will have to pay for system doctor for it to clean them up . So i was just wondering before i buy it , can anyone recomend any others. I have had full version of avg before but i still got Trogens on my system? Oh yes and the bloody thing keeps freezing up on me.
thanks
Rick

i use avg and adaware

then if its still got problems hijackthis is the best free way to sort out your pc imho

you will need to post your text file from hijackthis on a forum for a clever person too look at and give you step by step instructions of how to sort them out.
this can take a few days but imho the best free help on the net

i use this forum http://www.castlecops.com/f67-Hijackthis_Spyware_Viruses_Worms_Trojans_Oh_My.html

but there are many out there

adaware

its system doctor that giving you the probs mate as its spyware.

1, try to do a system restore to before you had it on the pc

or if that fails

2, google for system doctor removal.

heres a start for you, system doctor

Not knowing what "System Doctor" is, it could welll be one of these things which tells you you have issues just so you buy its full version.

There are a load of proper companies who'll do you a free online scan for Viri and other threats, worth giving them all a shot to see if they can clean you up.

CA's Virus Scan

CA's Spyware Scan

Panda's Active Scan

As Graeme says its a spyware programme (and guess how i know!!). You really need to get this one off fast as your computer will get worse and worse until eventually you have no choice to to do a complete reinstall. My computer got so bad that i ended up having to to this and lost all my pics and files - probably 300 - 400 build pics!!

Have a look here which may help

virus scanning at this stage wont really help mate you have been caught with a "smit" infection.

try a recovery before you had it say a month ago, if theres no system recovery to go to or it fails go through the link i sent to remove it.

i dont mormally offer help on here computer wise as theres always 10's of other locost keyboard warriors that seem to know better.

which is why i suggested a "google"

if it hasn't had a fresh install lately i would reinstall it anyway and partition the hard drive to make future installs easier
runs much better with a fresh install
