Toilet paper
McLannahan - 22/1/10 at 07:35 PM

How should it hang?

David Jenkins - 22/1/10 at 07:47 PM

Away from the wall - no question about it.

Next question?

So you did!

Was sitting in the loo at the time and thought....I wonder....

I think you'll all find it's against the wall....

nick205 - 22/1/10 at 08:15 PM

AWAY and any incorrectly installed roll should be reversed immediately!

Bang wrong It's harder to grab hold of, it looks wrong. Someone on that older thread mentioned it looking neater but the inner side of the paper is exposed, it's like someone wearing a jumper inside out, it couldn't look more wrong

Nash - 23/1/10 at 12:30 AM

I use IZAL and there isn't an option for that?!

6 sheets to wipe ya bum.... well one for ya bum and five for your index finger

..............I'll get my coat.

iank - 23/1/10 at 09:35 AM

Away from the wall, every hotel in the world can't be wrong.

smart51 - 23/1/10 at 09:43 AM

There's a special clinic to treat people who care about this question. The walls are padded and the jackets have very long sleeves.

clockwork - 23/1/10 at 09:54 AM

Buy a double roll holder... and find something better to argue about

There is a way to get away using only one square of toilet paper, that frugal Locosters might appreciate:

1. Tear off a small triangle from a corner of the square and put it aside.

2. Wrap the remainder of the sheet around finger and proceed to wipe.

3. Oh, you want to know what that little piece was for?? That's for cleaning your fingernail!

Peteff - 23/1/10 at 05:55 PM

Didn't Jon Ison ask this very question in the dim and distant past ?. The pretty side should face outwards so always buy patterned or quilted tissue to help the poor deluded souls who think otherwise.

I've just noticed, your vote has been recorded and you are now being forwarded back to the thread, how does that work ?
It doesn't do it when you edit though

Toltec - 23/1/10 at 06:30 PM

I am pretty new here, has the site name been changed to lOCDostbuilders?

Who cares about the loo roll?

Of course making sure the knives, forks and spoons are all in the correct slots is essential

David Jenkins - 23/1/10 at 07:07 PM

In our downstairs loo the roll sits on its end, on top of the radiator...

...which box do I tick for that one?

Liam - 23/1/10 at 11:27 PM

Woah! Three freaks have voted against the wall!! Can we ban them or something?

Ninehigh - 24/1/10 at 08:12 AM

Depends who's used the last bit of the last one...
If it's me, away.
If it's the missus, towards
If it's anyone else, empty bog roll stays on holder and new on is on the floor just out of reach.

Led to the joke "How can you tell when (name with-held to protect guilty) has finished a bog roll? The new one's on the floor!"

Angel Acevedo - 24/1/10 at 01:40 PM

That way yo can pull all you want, press the roll against the wall and it will tear nicely...

See?! Angel understands the sense in the against the wall method!

iank - 24/1/10 at 05:07 PM

We buy perforated paper, no problems tearing off a sheet.

Using the wall as a friction brake will inevitably mean re-decorating more frequently due to wall wear.

How much wear is toilet paper going to cause?

What did the doctor have to say about that? Do you sit on a rubber ring now?

DarrenW - 24/1/10 at 08:30 PM

Angel Acevedo - 25/1/10 at 06:38 AM

I think this is one of the most OT topics on this forum....
Good for a change though....
Wile at High School, all conversations would come to a point where we talked about S**t related topics...
Now I know you guys are no different!!!

NigeEss - 25/1/10 at 09:17 AM

Whist I accept that etiquette says away, against looks much neater than a a bit
of bog roll hanging in free space

Angel Acevedo - 26/1/10 at 12:17 PM

Another tip,
I also like to crush the roll, pressing against the wall to deform it, that way, you can pull with one hand and the roll doesn´t unravel all al once.

The secret to Izal is to scrunched it up before you use it that way it doesnt skid straight through and leave you with a brown stripe up your back

You know I wondered who used that... It reminds me of the tracing paper they had at school...

Edit: Damn too slow
