Fitting Mac#1 mirrors

I have a set of side mirrors from Mac#1.
they have a rubber shroud around the arm and a shaped plate but no fitting instructions.
Ive tried different ways but nowt looks right.
any ideas??

Alot of the MAC1 I have seen have a full cage and they are fitted to that. Are you fitting it to a full cage?

They drill a hole in the cage and tap a thread.

you may need to have the rear of the mount slightly higher than the front edge to make sure you can see over the rear wheel arches

Can't remember 100% but don't you just use the plate as a template, drill the holes, then fit the mirror and put the plate on the inside and tightten the bolts against it to hold it securely?

Im sorry I have given duff info!

Looking at the pics has reminded me that my car had Racetech mirrors.

aahhh
I was using the plate to support the rubber where the rubber meets the scuttle.
