Getting a few odds and sods together for when the time comes, but Im still a bit unsure of how I want the dash to look.

I notice the Vortx has a narrow band of dash before it slopes so I think my clocks (bike) are going to end up in the centre some where, hopefully shoe horned inside the exept area as Im not convinced the R1 clocks will be sufficiently radiused (can they be made SVA compliant outside the zone?).

Can I have a peek at some different examples to see how people have attacked this?

I made a fleece/fiberglass piece for the guages and then molded it to the scuttle. I don't have to worry about sva, but here is what it looks like.

Keep the R1 clock in the centre within the exempt area around the wheel and you'll be OK.

Some great designs, but I've got to say, Zetec, you've got me sold and i'm planning already.

15" sierra wheel plus 127mm (I think) around it leaves plenty of room for the clock. The SVA guy got out a tape measure and held it up against the steering wheel then said "I've got those same clocks on my R6"

Zetec. That dash is a work of art. I want one now.

Greenguages do a good little guage design option on their site. Even if you dont get their stuff you can get an idea of colours and styles.

How tall is the dash from column shroud to the first curve/beginning of slope and from this point upwards (to the top of aeroscreen).

This may be of help. I too was going to mount my gauges in the centre but instead opted to lose the column cover and place everything in the line of site. I am currently making a carbon panel to house the centre switches and also a shaped carbon panel to fit right at the top of the drivers scuttle bulge which is housing my shift lights and a digital gear indicator. These will always be in my vision.

Main gauge is a Acewell digital unit and I have a blacked out water temp gauge next to it (Autogage). This is from another angle.

Rather like the look of a Digi Dash but really not sure I could justify the expense of the DD2.

have you had much bother setting up the Acewell Howlor? I think Id have the version without warning lights.

Any chance someone with a Vortx could measure the available space from top of column surround to the slope of the dash as Im not sure the larger digi dash units will fit.

Also looking at the Veypor but again, doubt it would fit behind the wheel

It was on the flat surface of one of the upright humps just above the steering wheel...

Not ideal, but will later go on the steering wheel and I will put a facia on the dash..

Maybe carbon look sticky back?

Ah ok, so it did fit behind the wheel then? Was that with no Sierra type surround?

I think Ill have to find an alternative surround if I want to mount mych in that area

Looking increasingly like a DD2 Lite for me

Was hoping to be able to avoid the expense but it just looks so good and looks a pretty straight forward fit.

Can I have a look see where you fitted yours please G Man? Im not sure it will fit behind the wheel on a Vortx, and defo not with a column cover on.

I think with the DD2, youd want it closer to your line of vision to maximise the shiftlight etc, would be a shame to have it offset to the centre.

Interested to see how it looks in a Vortx

It does fit, but its not staying there...

Mainly because you cant see it with the wheel rim...

My new quick release omp wheel has left a gap between the wheel and the sierra column surround, so I am gonna mount it there or on the wheel...

Ah, ok so even with the sierra column surround there is enough room?

Shame that its obscurred, what size wheel is that with? It may be ok with another size??
