digidash speed sensor

Hi there guys,

just finishing the install of my digidash today and reading throught the gps manual i see you can use gps for the speed instead of the speed sensor supplied.

Has anyone else gone this route?

i understand it'll be a bit hit and miss in tunnels, bridges etc but that isnt really a problem.

i'm more interested to know if anyones used the gps method and the gear calculation/display still works properly?

thanks

Hmmm... That's a good question. I have one but its still not installed. How do you plan to
Ge through IVA as you need to show the correct speed etc? Can you not just remove the gps anntena?

.... I'll have a quick thumb through the manual and see if I can work it out.

So you set up your digidash as per the normal way..tyre size, transmission, gear ratio, diff ratio, etc. ...... This would then be good to go as the dd2 com port is set to default. To get the gps to work you plug in the gps reciever and then change your dd2 com port setting from "digitools" to "GPS 1Hz" and only then will it read from the GPS receiver

Glad you posted that question

the car has already passed the test so no need to worry about that anymore,

finished installing the dash late this evening after a headache with the fuel sensor so i'll test it out through the week to see how it works with the gps,
