I would gladly pay what you do to have my good eyesight and youthful reactions back and the lack of fear of dying in a fireball.

Nice one..
Can I ask what engine it is? Ill hopefully be insuring mine sometime this year when I turn 21..

Stuart_B - 2/1/12 at 08:20 PM

thank you, it is cheap to insure for what it is.

it's a pinto hopeful till next winter when it will become a zx10r or sr20det

what have you got?

stu

MsD - 2/1/12 at 08:23 PM

Ive got a 1.6 pinto in my locost(ish)..
Started building it when I was 18 so I always had insurance on my mind- now im 20 I wish id pit a bigger engine in! . But it can always come back out and get swapped around at a later date!
I thought youd be upgrading to something along the lines of a Duratec or bigger capacity Pinto?
Nice to know theres some younger builders on here- not just then 'older' generation.. ahem!

Stuart_B - 2/1/12 at 08:26 PM

the 1.6pinto is still fun, but you can all ways upgrade

there is a few young builders on here, they are a lot of fun, but i have had to invest some money in body work and steel, and new wheels after my last time out lol

the 2.0 pinto is an easy swap over job

Its my first RWD car- so it should be a lot more fun then the daily! Just realised your engine spec is in your sig!! Haha.

Lol- Ill save you the shame of repeating the story and not ask

Well thats what im probs gonna do next winter.. we will see if it makes it onto the public racetrack, ermm i mean road, by then!

ALL people on this forum are young, otherwise they wouldn't be building silly little open cars, and if it wasn't for us

Stu if you don't mind me asking who is your insurance with ?

I am also 20 ill be 21 when my current insurance is up and need to look again , But i think last year it cost me just short of £1000 for a 1.8 zetec in my tiger but i didn't really shop around ..

your quote seems good so thought be worth trying who your with ..

Cheers

Hi monck, I insure with footman James, this is the 3rd year of insuring with them.

Stu

monck - 3/1/12 at 06:37 PM

Cheer's Stue, im with Adrian flux at the moment but i will give them a ring ...

Comparing my last years cover of 968.00 to your £680 i don't Adrian flux are to bad as i was the same age as you with 3 points ( Not as a result of my 7) and an 1800cc zetec ....

I also only had the car fully insured for 6 months then had it on off road cover for the winter so it was just short of £500 for the summer and £50 for the other 6 .....

Ryan

Stuart_B - 3/1/12 at 06:42 PM

they do an off road policy, that sounds good, i need to see if footman James do that

Haha! But I thought because we are young, we automatically know best?
Your right though!

monck - 3/1/12 at 11:08 PM

Stu, Im pretty sure all insurers offer this ....

if your 40 and ur insurance is £300 for the year it doesn't mater as much but if your around are age and you don't use it in winter months you can save good money with of road cover
