Just got a renewal quote from footman James for 250. I think I will be looking around.

coozer - 22/3/12 at 08:33 PM

I'm with Sureterm, £127 last year, should be cheaper this year as one of my claims has expired....

monck - 22/3/12 at 08:37 PM

How old are you ?

monck - 22/3/12 at 08:55 PM

21..

Im hoping it will come down abit this year as my license is now clean after having my 3 points off

Either way its going to be way more than you guy's ..

Only way i could afford to inure it last year was have it insured on the road for 6 months and on off road cover the other 6 witch costs a lot less as my age doesn't matter when on off road cover

Graham,
whilst I was trying to sell mine I went with 2Gether. They insured me for 1000 miles only which cost me about £90 for the year. This was the cheapest way of doing it as I knew that it would be sold before doing that many miles.

I've just renewed my very modded Landrover with 2Gether - great renewal quote.

The renewal was due on the Vortx, I told them I'd sold it but would be insuring the Locost soon - they quoted me £125.00 and not bothered at all about the well tuned engine.

I've got my caravan insured with them too.

Some on here don't rate them, but I do very highly - the best insurance broker I've dealt with.

You might be better phoning them - may get a better price.
They actually understand cars and know what they're talking about.

Your choice of course

Rob

daniel mason - 22/3/12 at 10:34 PM

garry does. id insist on speaking directly to him. they are only a broker though and highway will be insuring the car without doubt

A1 - 22/3/12 at 11:35 PM

Re nig: I had a wee bump and they totally screwed me around, sent out 'engineers' who didnt have a clue what they were on about, for example when he looked at my car said 'aah samco hoses, thats all i know about these' then wrote off a perfectly good car... so I had to go to his superiors and a month later had his verdict overturned. they werent even samco hoses.
basically a total stress all because they didnt know what they were on about. pretty poor for specialist cover.

We have some discounts setup in the Members Area over at SKCC.

http://www.southernkitcars.com/forum/

Personally I'm with 2gether and I'm very happy with the service and the fact that they paid out when I had an "issue". All for £130 per year.

Norfolkluegojnr - 23/3/12 at 11:37 AM

Frank Pickles for me too - 28yr old, 1yr no claims, 4k miles, only £170ish if i remember correctly

dhutch - 23/3/12 at 06:39 PM

Just done mine now.

Having paid £540 with footman last year (three speedings tickets) and getting a renewal that was simular it then jumped to £1500 when i asked to start it again at the end of last year.

Today they quoted me £817, presumably as one of the speeding convictions turned three earlier this month.

On that basis i rang sureterm again who i was with the year before (also about £5-600) and they quoted £385, winner!

Onto 2gether , girl was be far the nicest to talk to, least hold time, best hold music (beatles nowhere man, fwiw) and very friendly. ££276 and excess down from £500 to £100.

Im 24, 3kmiles, 5k agreed value, had the car 3.5years.

Pickles again for me, Barry is a top top bloke who helped me out with a couple of things that he didnt have to and the premium is fair to say the least £160 9k miles agreed value etc etc.....

jacko - 28/3/12 at 06:16 PM

To save me messing about with photos ect to another company i have just gone back with A/Flux.
After ringing them and getting the price down from £127 to £109 i dont know why they cant just give you there best price in the renewal it would have saved me time and phone calls
