Rear of car collapsed!
Sierra - 20/8/15 at 07:39 PM

Just had a call from the mrs that she went over a pothole and the car made a horrible noise, ABS light has come on.
She drove home around 10 miles and asked me to come out and have a look.
On first inspection I noticed the front drivers side was around 3 inches lower than passengers side. Then I looked back and saw the rear of the car had collapsed and both rear wheels were tucked into the arches!!!

Anyone know what would fail to cause both sides at the rear to dropped equally like that?
The car is a 2007 Mini Cooper

broken (rusted) subframe.

A quick google points to failed rear arms. Not a common fault, but not unheard of by looks of it.

As for both, could be both being weak, one fails and extra loads pushes 2nd over the limit at same time.

Leave it like and get it on Ebay for the boy racers... maybe cut the front springs a bit to even it out?
