These have been on sale on and off over the past couple of years.

IIRC they were part of a one make classic/historic style race series at donnington originally powered by NA Cassie engines. The first few sold with engines and the rest have been trickling onto the market over the past couple of years. Could be wrong but think that is what was in some of the original adverts.

I've seen these being advertised for years, they look interesting but the problem (as i see it) is their use is very limited. They wouldn't be allowed in track days and in any competitive event (sprint/hillclimb/monoposto) would be lumped in with modern single seaters with no chance of being competitive.
Now that's not to say they wouldn't be fun and completely dismiss the idea but I struggle to see what you would do with one once purchased.

No engine or gearbox would not be complete in my eyes.

I have a Lamborgini Aventador for sale, first £100 and its yours. It’s 100% complete except for chassis, bodywork, electricals, engine/gearbox and running gear ;-)

Apart from the missing parts, this M8x25 bolt is a complete GT40 replica.

Not exactly, but I do have a Camembert propshaft and half a dozen Dairylea brake pads.
And Emmental makes excellent, free flowing air filters.

Just out of curiosity, What would stop them doing trackdays? If they had cycle wings wouldnt they be allowed?

Classic aircraft have been rebuilt with not much more than a bolt and vin plate

It'd a single seater racing car, even with cycle wings track days organisers would turn you away.

Some might give dispensation for that it I doubt it.

Ah i see. I wonder how my Roadrunner racing SR1 will fair? Its road legal so hopefully will be ok for track days?

I would ask the organiser before booking anything. It might be difficult though. Sprint's and hill climbs would be easier.
