Took my father in law out for lunch today for his birthday. Travelling to pick him up we were behind a rather immaculate Escort RS Cosworth. Middle aged gent driving it very tenderly to the extent he was driving around and pot holes a drain covers rather than over them. At first I didn't I was paying more attention to the car itself than the driving. Then my 11 year old son points out how it's being driven! He was right and I have say I'd have been taking the same care driving it myself
Someone on one of the chat shows said a few weeks ago:
Almost all cars are fit for the roads, but few roads are fit for cars...
Quite true, British roads are in pretty poor repair these days. Not good for cars and often be dangerous for cyclists.
There was a big show at Goodwood on Sunday - it had probably been there.
Could have been, there were a few other nice weekend cars out on the roads as well. We were near to Goodwood at the time so it would make sense.
