My striker has, I think, an unusual method of fitting the tank.
It has a large tab welded to the front surface that goes down and picks up on a separate plate that spans between the two lower wishbones.
In between these two Ali plates is a 4mm thick hard rubber mat. Quite obviously placed in-between and under the tank to offer suppression to
vibration.
Does anyone else have this design? Anyone know of 4mm ish thick rubber mat that I could use?
That sounds very odd, the tank in my striker has tabs on the chassis and the tank bolts directly to this, no padding of any kind..

Sounds unusual to me - I fitted my MK Indy fuel tank straight to the rear of the chassis with some steel straps to secure in place, no foam or rubber
fitted.
Is it the correct tank or perhaps one that somebody already had and made it fit?
Some photos would be good to see too.
A little thinner than 4mm but I am intending to use the rubber from bicycle inner-tubes as cushioning - albeit only on the 25mm strips used to secure it.

You should have something or the aluminum will ware though if using straps..

As mentioned, I would like some sort of vibration suppression. Especially as the mounting method has been welded on after the fabrication of the tank,
and not very well either.
It is a Striker tank, I have checked. It is just the mounting method which is unusual. I dont have a photo of the tank fitted and assembled but this
is the mating.

Ill keep the mounting method as is, it works and is not the worst way in the world.
That looks like gasket material.
Neoprene mat may be used,
I think I am going to go for a rubber mat.
I took some more pics the other day to upload as people were interested in how it is actually mounted. I have not had time to upload them.
