On my Tango Jester under the seat runners I was surprised to find strips of Alloy that where shaped to the floor pan
The alloy is about 8mm in thickness is this strong/thick enough to take a load if needed to in a crash
Or would the bolts just rip right though the alloy making the seats like ejector seats
Have tried to get some steel the same thickness shapped but there machine cant shape to that thickness
I want to use Tango on track days so don't what any problems getting it checked over at the circuit
Are your seatbelts fixed into the chassis or through the same aly plates?
The seats won't eject you if your belts are OK!
I'd be more worried about going through the floor if it's not strong enough!
Motorsport UK regulations state 3mm steel and 5mm alloy for seat mounts so 7mm alloy exceeds that. If your fabricator can bend 3-5mm steel then I’d be comfortable with that, especially if the belts are bolted to the chassis.
I didn't track it, but on my MK Indy I built frames from 25x25mm right angle steel to bolt the seats to 3mm steel strips in the chasis floor. The 4 point harnesses were bolted to designed in points in the chasis.

You can't see the frames, but this gives an idea of the seats fitted...

I have a J15 and there is no chassis rail of any sorts between the pedals and the rear of the seats across the width so that alloy was probably put
there by the buider to try and make the seat harder to rip out and easier to fit but as someone has already said its the belts that will keep you
in.
If it was that dangerous it wouldnt pass IVA thats how i think of it (but id still prefer a couple of chassis rails)
