Hurray!!!! after 2 months being out of work and getting more and more despondent (and grumpy!) I got a phone call out of the blue this morning
to say that the guy a company had hired rather than me (after the only interview I'd managed to get in 2 months! ) was rubbish and would I
like the job - er... yes please! I said
It's cr*p being made redundant at the moment trust me - especially if you work in the construction/architecture/engineering field - so my advice
would be that if you have a job at the moment cherish it like there isn't another job in the world - because unfortunately that's not
actually a million miles from the truth just now..........
Superb well done and just in time for Christmas too
well done and happy christmas
Top news
Well done.
Got made redundant this time last year, got another job straight away but it looks like its going to happen again soon and as you say there's not
alot about at the moment
Good luck in your new job.
Steve.
I'm on the brink here and looking aroound theres nowt in the automotive engineerign sector
I get "loaned out" to other companies & I've just been told by the client that they want us to drop to 35Hrs a week.
My boss said he can't possibly find me anything to do just for 5 Hrs per week..............
SO He's going to just pay me the 40 Hrs a week till end of january and then review.
TOP MAN ......... I love my boss
RD
Excellent news, thank goodness the company involved had the sense to get rid of the bloke that turned out to be no good, it's not unknown for
firms in that situation to pretend they haven't made a mistake.......
John

Make that a week and 1 day! - I'm hoping he was the muppet and not the company..... BUT the guy who interviewed me had longish hair and a bit of a beard so I'm thinking I'll fit in - ok, I don't have them any more but I've got the T shirt so to speak AND I know I can do the job - plus they have lots of rather cool engineering subcontractors who might be very useful in car building terms.... so
Anyway, thanks everyone for the congratulations and considering the mood I'm in I would buy you all a pint if we were in the same pub
excellent ,
