anyone know about registering new i phones?

i got a new iphone 4 today as an upgrade from my 3gs and have put in new sim,registered it and coppied all mumbers and photos, got the apps store working,and web browsing but still have no network coverage to make calls.
when i click on my iphone on itunes-then summarry it says model number,storage capacity etc but where it says phone number it says n/a
any ideas?

Had this with mine and ended up having to call vodaphone and get the whole registration process redone, eventually went live with coverage 48 hrs later

ive swapped from thge 3g sim to the iphone 4 micro sim! but nothing as yet

Did you contact your provider to get them to activate the new sim ?

just been on phone to them.it was a bit awkward becausev its a works phone,payed for by my boss but i use it for personal use and am not the bill payer

You have to phone up and activate the new sim, number on the 'get started quick' booklet and then wait. Normally wait 10-20mins and then turn the new pho.e off and back on and it will connect.
