iPhone repair
I predict a Riot - 1/6/13 at 08:47 PM

My wife has dropped her iPhone 4S and cracked the front glass.

Has anyone repaired one themselves? I know that a kit is available on eBay but are they any good?

Or should I just send it to a repair shop?

Thanks for any advice.

Did one OK about a month ago. You need good quality tools and good eyes. Youtube vids available. I was told the difficulty rated 2 out of 5 but found it very delicate and fiddly but do-able but was on my limit. Kit only cost 34 dollars Australian so saved a packet. Phone still working.

They're glass front n back, as as above they're delicate, never tried it myself my sister paid a shop £50 to supply & fit!

Search for I phone angels on the net, turned mine around in 48 hrs and service was exemplary, cost was £50 I believe

I did one the other day. The kit came supplied with all required tools. I just watched a how to video on youtube while I did it. It was very easy, but lots of tiny screws. Just lay all the bits out in the order you remove them, and don't mix them up, or drop the screw's on the floor as you will never find them.

Don't mix the screws up either or you could loose your wifi antenna like I have
