What's Herne Bay Like to Live In?
John P - 9/8/13 at 04:00 PM

As above really.

We were looking to move to Paignton in Devon but haven't really found anything we can afford which meets our needs and it's also a long way from our daughters who live in Kent and Surrey.

As an alternative we're now considering Herne Bay as it seems relatively cheap for what you get and apparently better than Hastings say. (We've discounted Margate and Ramsgate).

Have seen a house on-line in Linden Avenue which appears close to the sea and shops. It's up for £250K and is a detached 3-bedroom.

Any comments,

John.

It's nice place to live. Dont discount garlinge and birchington which are just outside margate also very nice places.

Herne Bay is actually quite expensive compared to other areas around

I live in Beltinge
Very nice here
Like everywhere it has its bad bits, roads for one are terrible, but the good bits far outweigh the bad

its a bit sleepy but generally nice. another bonus is that rally design is a couple of mins in the car.

I've not been for sometime but I seem to remember the transport links not being very good, but that might not be true any more (Or ever, I might be thinking of the worng place).

Hythe is much better.

I travel up from Margate area everyday to all the country, roads are fine.
