Going by the comments/replies I often feel that I am an old man on here, I suppose I am at 63, but still active with the car doing track days etc. Therefore, I thought it may be interesting to see what the average age of a Locost member is.

sprintB+ - 26/2/16 at 08:31 AM

64 and a big bit, now where did that time go ?

David Jenkins - 26/2/16 at 09:03 AM

63 and a bit - I'm a firm believer in growing old disgracefully.

"Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional"

Dick Axtell - 26/2/16 at 09:55 AM

So far, only 2 in my age group (66 - 75). Keep chasing the dream, Buddy!!

Snap! nearly free bus pass time I believe..

russbost - 26/2/16 at 10:13 AM

I'm actually quite surprised to see as many as there are in the 26 - 35 bracket, the vast majority of my customers for cars have been 40 plus & looking around at the members of our club (Essex Kitcar Club) most are 50+

Me? I'm heading for the big 60 next year, no idea where the time went, but still act much like a 15 year old!

Who the hell wants to grow up???

computid - 26/2/16 at 10:46 AM

21 and been here since I was about 16

Drifting further and further into building bikes and away from cars now though.

I guess you need to allow for how likely it is they will be posting on here - I suspect a larger proportion of the younger age groups are posting on here compared to the overall proportion of locost/kit builders and owners that they represent....
(does that make sense? I've not been getting much sleep this week... )

I'm 34 now, but don't feel any older than I did when I registered on here 10 years ago.... (scary how fast that time has gone )

40inches - 26/2/16 at 12:16 PM

67 and counting

colin99999 - 26/2/16 at 12:29 PM

Physically 35, mentally somewhere around the 7 to 12 age depending on the gravity of the subject...

Jeano - 26/2/16 at 12:36 PM

im 28, had a Robin Hood 2b Pinto at the age of 24 but only got the current car due to house.

i have only done the ring a few times and one track day in a mates car. I want to increase this alot.

adithorp - 26/2/16 at 12:57 PM

Coming up on 54 in a couple of months... and trying not to act like it, though I do keep saying things that sound like my Dad.

Am I the only one who thinks the %'s in the survey don't make sence?

JeffHs - 26/2/16 at 01:08 PM

68 which does seem like a very big number.
The %ages are silly, they don't add up to anything like 100!

prawnabie - 26/2/16 at 02:09 PM

I've voted today as tomorrow I will move up a group

Got mine already, I believe anyone can get one over the age of 62

David Jenkins - 26/2/16 at 07:41 PM

Work out the date when a woman born on the same day would get her pension - that's the age at which a man can apply for a bus pass.

(got mine too...)

Just turned 25 and been on here since I was 12! I've been a Locost builder for more than half my life

Wow, that's some serious history - one to be proud of!

Imagine where it'll take you in terms of experience if you stick with it for the rest of your life (assuming we still have cars and IVA lingers on in some shape or form)!

Shooter63 - 26/2/16 at 08:31 PM

33 here. Wanted a kit ever since I went in my uncles Xflow Westy when I was about 12. Only now am I in the financial position to do so. Well I say that, I'm skint but at least I have a quick rack, quick release wheel boss and some other goodies to fit over the weekend!

Found my love of cars and bikes in general from working with my dad(mechanic) since I was about 6 years old after school and at weekends. I'm never happier than when I have spanners all over floor, can't find that 10mm I had 5 mins ago and swearing at those s***ty rivnuts!

benchmark51 - 26/2/16 at 10:35 PM

I'm 32, but it's my second lap

daniel mason - 26/2/16 at 10:43 PM

hearbear - 27/2/16 at 12:11 AM

gaz_gaz - 27/2/16 at 08:51 AM

She says I act like a kid which is why she loves me.
I wonder if she's ever worked for the BBC!

daniel mason - 27/2/16 at 08:57 AM

You can't stay 32 forever gaz! Like all the page 3 girls who've been 21 and from Essex for the last 8 years

ianhurley20 - 27/2/16 at 09:19 AM

64 and got a bus pass! But I've never used it yet ;-)

Ivan - 27/2/16 at 09:42 AM

67 and still modifying engines I guess some men never grow up.

And happily the girl on the bonnet of my Escort is still with me - just wish my Escort was as well.

Haha. You'll be happy to hear I've decided to have a birthday this year bud.
I needed an excuse to go watch Amir khan in Vegas so decided I'd sacrifice a year of age.

r1_pete - 27/2/16 at 10:14 AM

Made it into the 56 - 65 bracket a couple of weeks ago.

Treated myself to another 4 wheel toy too.

ScimKit in Bits - 29/2/16 at 02:47 AM

62 now, still 17 up top. Fortunately, I've been the inheritor of some excellent genes which didn't make themselves known until just last week, when I realised I was fitter and more handsome than ever.
Then I woke up.
