After the success of previous requests to name books on here from my childhood which I now have in my collection thanks to online second hand
bookshops and even now share with my kids, there is one book I cannot find the name of -
It is a long time ago (over 30 years) when I read this and was one of my dads books I started reading but it involves a captured flying saucer and
what I can remember are –
• It had a large central sphere which slowly rotated to uncover the entrance
• It started to absorb all the heat of the room it was stored in
Yip not a lot to go on there, you can see why I am struggling to find it!
Can any genius on here work out what book this is from…??? Thanks

Any idea of who the author is/was?
Can you remember what the front cover looked like?
I would imagine around that time (30 or so years) it would either be Isaac Asimov or Arthur C Clarke as the author. Those were the authors my dad used
to read.
I'm working on narrowing it down further 😁

ive had a hunt and not found anything.
If you get any more details i'll talk to an old bosses husband. He sells scifi books at fairs and may be able to help.
