what isn't so great is im battling to get the dreaded lurgy off my back before the -10 degree weather

Bulgaria isn't too bad for winter sports, failry cheap and relaxed. If you've skied French/Italian Alps you might find it a bit restrictive but still lotsa fun to be had.

Good luck anyway, its not really snowed anywhere in Europe yet, but fingers crossed.

I looked at Bulgaria for our trip this year, but went for the safe option of the French alps again. You will have to let us know what its like.

Worse thing is I organised a trip for 28 people and now I cant go as ive broken my leg!

Heard good things about it. I am off to Pamporovo on Sunday as I am going with 4 beginners and Pamps is well suited for them. Looks like the snow has come just in the nick of time. Have fun.
