TGR-ECOSSE - 28/12/07 at 10:35 PM

Ahh Keltic tools man!! When i saw your post i thought you were a bit closer

The garage i use for the Locost build was originaly built to work on land rovers and has a wood burning stove, tv,radio and even a darkroom in it

twybrow - 28/12/07 at 10:39 PM

Single garage (chilly!) leading into what my mrs calls "the shack" - I call it my workshop! It too is rather chilly....!

jacko - 28/12/07 at 10:46 PM

24ftx16ft and cold roll on the nice HOT weather

Fozzie - 28/12/07 at 10:47 PM

At home, a single 'integral' garage, open lounge door, one step to the right, open door, ya there...nice and warm too...and dehumidifier on

Away from the house .....we have a big work-shop... fits about 5-6 cars.........

but........ t'is cold over there.....

Fozzie

No footballing history of their own, so they have to steal Liverpool's.

Double garage here.

You would be surprised by how many people I get saying come on Celtic on the email

I went to Scotland last year great people fantastic roads

ps very jealous of your wood burning stove nothing like a nice fire to keep warm and enjoy a glass of single malt

Just finished building new garage - 28ft x 26ft internal, double glazed and 16ft leccy roller door. Just got to paint it out then all the toys can move in.

Lol! yes! Celtic FC = tools! it all makes sense!

ah for me, double garage, manual double garage door, normal door on the back with a single pane polycarb window

MkIndy7 - 29/12/07 at 01:15 AM

Next to the house a 1.5x Single garage with a 2 skin insulated roof. Double frosted Glazing, Carpets, heating, lighting, electrics etc.

And to the side of that a Double garage with 2x single doors and lighting etc. and soon to have a new roof over the old (slightly leaky) asbestos one.

Guess which one we try and spend the most time in!

quite interested by an electric roller shutter. how much does one o them cost? out up and over door's on its last legs i think... the wooden frame has pulled away from the brick wall, got a gap of around a 1/2" all the way round.

Jesus-Ninja - 29/12/07 at 01:31 AM

I have a tandem garage, basically a little longer than two singles end to end. Space round the sides ina squeeze!

oadamo - 29/12/07 at 01:39 AM

i havent got a garage but iam building mine at work so when all the chassis is done its going on my van roof. then back home in the back garden hopfully for the summer to finish it off. ive gotta pull my finger out and build a garage but the other half said that she wants it to put her merc in
adam

blueshift - 29/12/07 at 03:07 AM

Double length garage, I have the back half, crammed full of chassis, bench and shelves etc. No heat but plenty of light, power and attached to the house.

Can't complain really, but heating and space for a lathe and some other bits and bobs would be lubberly.

RazMan - 29/12/07 at 07:29 AM

Single & unheated but I managed to build all of my car in / outside it over two years. It goes to prove that you don't need a namby pamby heated haven to build a car in the winter - just buy some thermals and a wooly hat and get out there!

zilspeed - 29/12/07 at 08:12 AM

I'm afraid I don't call mine a garage. It's more a very large shed - 16x8. Workable room to walk round the Sylva with a space at the end for a bit of a bench.

But. that's the space I have and I'm happy that my car is dry. That's a major achievement for me.

Snap

16X20 Full to brim, leaky roof, freezing cold & the side door has just fallen of the hinges.

I've had the new roof tiles & door for over two years. Every year it is the same story. I'll do that roof this summer !!??

I will do it this summer though

Ronnie

Phil.J - 29/12/07 at 10:21 AM

34ft x 20ft and I still struggle for space! It's just too full of kit (Lathe, miller, pillar drill, surface grinder, linisher, bead blaster, guilotine, bender, band saw, press, rollers, racking, benches, mig, tig, arc, gas welders etc).
I reckon that you just slowly expand to fill whatever space you have.

NS Dev - 29/12/07 at 10:36 AM

Agreed!! I have been to Phil's workshop and it is fantastic, as is his work!!!

Mine also suffers from lack of space, 30ft by 15ft but too much in it (changed a lot since this photo too!!

NS Dev - 29/12/07 at 10:38 AM

PS looking for a unit, around 2500-3500 sqft in the hinckley area!!!

Mine just cost me £1100 fitted with ground lock. It is a security grade door for peace of mind.

Gav - 29/12/07 at 02:43 PM

My garage is half of the estates sale office when it was being built! its a decent size for a single garage but cold!

martyn_16v - 29/12/07 at 04:07 PM

Single garage, in a block. No power, no lights, bloody cold. It's too far away from the house to run an extension lead or anything to it

NS Dev - 29/12/07 at 05:41 PM

................... and ya still built a non-hairdryer powered motor.......

nice one that man
