Which zetec cam?
novacaine - 20/4/09 at 09:26 PM

Hi all,

After being confused by the burton power website I'm after some recomendations for a cam for a 2.0 silvertop

I'm happy to put up with a lumpy idle to get a good high performance cam

Do cam kits generally come with springs?

Cheers

Matt

Cams dont normally come with springs. You need to decide if you want to change pistons and valve train. If you don't then Piper 285 is normally the way to go...it should be fine using all standard parts if rev limit is kept below about 7300 and will give about 200 bhp, just check piston clearance before firing up. Cam choice will be dependent on whether you want to port the head, if not going for anything too wild will be a waste. Also you don't mention what fuel system you have.

Will be running it on megasquirt and bike throttle bodies, 200-220 would be my target, maybe more depending on cost
I don't really want to get into changing pistons but I might get the head ported, again depending on cost

Thanks for the replies
