hi guys does anyone know roughly how much a megajolt would be supplied and fitted........fitted being the most important..........2 litre pinto with twin 45s, standard distributor and electronic ignition.........near sunny great yarmouth would be nice...........thanks in advance.

If you are running a standard distributor and electronic ignition, why do you want a megajolt??

Autosport labs sell megajolt for about £110 delivered.

no vacuum advance as running twin 45s.............but a full kit is around £300 ie tps edis pick up wheel megajolt but mainly a price and somewhere that can fit it..........

It's the "someone who can fit it" that's the problem. It does require a fair bit of mucking about and user input, which most commercial garages wouldn't want to know about.

Basically, it's a DIY system designed to be fitted and set up by enthusiasts.

enthusiast yes............skill set maybe not............maybe best to go for an aldon distibutor....

if you want to buy the bits and drive to me i will fit it for you. but im in kent. surely there is another lcb that will come round and help you.

Dean,
Megajolt is an absolute doddle to fit. I've just done it and if I can anyone can. It really is very simple. Really good clear instructions on the Autosport Labs website and on the installation disc. I bought mine from a fellow Locoster for £120 new (and built).
Are you worried about building the kit or installing a finished kit, if it's the latter, don't be, it's easy.

deanwelch - 15/4/10 at 08:19 PM

met flakmonkey last meet....nice supercharger......i think ms megasquirt is replacement for injection system on newer engines not megajolt for older pintos will speak to him at stoneleigh i think he his camping......

Theres plenty of stuff about the net for pintos with megajolt and plenty of people on here with it.

You will need:-

trigger wheel
Crank VR sensor and some sort of mounting bracket
EDIS unit from early escorts with the plug
zetec coil pack with plug
and megajolt unit.

It is easy to set up, the wiring is a piece of cake. Ill come and give you a hand if you get stuck.

Failing that, get an aldon igniter dizzy. A bloke i know fitted one in his 2 litre pinto tiger, works well.

if he can sort out MS then he can do MJ in his sleep

this site gives you a good idea of whats involved: (its an older version of MJ but you still fit it the same way)
http://www.cate1.co.uk/megajolt/index.php

as for the bits you need, no more than £25 delivered for a trigger wheel
and the donor bits if you take them off yourself should be less than £40 inc all the wires and plugs that link it all together
(I got all my donor bit for £25 )
