I just fitted the 24v bob in my robin hood. It is tight I have about 1.2 inch at the front section of the cam heads to the chassis. I thought the mk

Might also be able to get the DIFF from the Granada cosworth aswell. It's bolt of flanges so will it be LSD?
Yep - Friction plate LSD...
Don't forget to get the ECU and assorted sundries. Then teach the ECU how you like to drive.

It may not be too big, but it has NO place in a lightweight chassis like yours! Heavy as a heavy elephant and not even all that powerful!
No one would be interested in it if it wasn't associated with the word 'cosworth'.

The BOB is 206 bhp from memory. That's not bad. What does it weigh?
I once asked the guy at Boosted (BOB / BOA specialists) and I'm sure it was somewhere in the region of 220kg.
It's not an LSD if it's a bug-eye facelift Scorpio, but an old Granada Scorpio will have LSD.
As for the weight - the resultant car is still gonna weigh plenty less than a Lotus Elise - dont see the problem myself. But somebody will always moan
when there's talk of fitting a big engine.
Whilst it may end up weighing (marginally) less than a Lotus Elise, it's worth bearing in mind that a Lotus Elise benefits from being beautifully
balanced due to the mid-mounted engine and all that Lotus know-how.
Stick 200kg up front in a locost type car and you're going to struggle to make it change direction in the twisties.
If, however, you're a suspension set-up guru or you just want to stick a big Ford engine with a bit of Cosworth DNA in it for the sheer hell of
it, then by all means... go for it!

Nowt wrong with opinoins - it's just the 'facts' that are sometimes used to justify them!
A Seven, even with a heavier than usual engine in its position well behind the front axle, with all that lard right at the back - axle, fuel, roll
bar, occupants - is not far off a 50-50 weight distribution anyway. Even my 4WD with a V6 (albeit an ally one) and the front axle is very close to
50-50. So the idea, often put forward, that a big-engined Seven will somehow be some disastrous ditch-finding understeering oil tanker is pretty much
ridiculous. 'Struggle to make it change direction in the twisties'? Seriously? Compared to a Superlight R500 - maybe a little bit. Compared
to almost everything else on the road - no way.

Yes, it stands to reason that you should be able to get it to handle better 'compared to almost everything else on the road', but why settle
for that when you could make it handle MUCH better 'compared to almost everything else on the road' simply by not using this engine
and going for something more suitable?
I just cannot see the point in putting a whacking great lump of metal like the BOA / BOB engine into a Seven-style car when there are better suited
engines available for similar money.
The sole (occasional) attraction to this engine is the magical cosworth association. If the same engine existed without the cosworth tag, then
I'd wager that we wouldn't be having this conversation... no one would be interested in using it for a lightweight sports-car build because

If it was me I'd put a Honda s2000 in a mk. However the bob has much more torque at the low end. Mk I don't think has the strength. My robin dose tho its a tank compared to the locost or mk.
