Speedo Cable Woes
AndyGT - 23/4/14 at 09:48 PM

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I thought it was the closest...

I need a speedo cable with the two ends from two different cars. So does anyone know of a supplier of custom speedo cables?

Thanks
Andy

Speedy Cables http://www.speedycables.com/cables.html

They made up a custom cable to the length I required. Ford Type 9 one end, classic Smiths the other. I also got a 90 degree drive from them which made a neat cable run up the transmission tunnel possible.

I need a right angled drive for a type 9 box, how much was yours? Couldn't find one listed on their site.

Speedograph Richfield in Nottingham will make any cable you want. They have been producing cables for over a 100 years so know what they are doing.....

I made mine by using a sierra outer cable to attach to the gearbox and then cut it in half and used an MGB outer cut in half to attach to the speedo, I joined the 2 halves with some fuel hose and jubilee clips, I think the inner was from a mk 3 escort.
