Renault NG3 box & Ford Zetec adapter/bellhousing !Help!
thomas4age - 6/5/14 at 07:31 PM

Hi All,

I'm urgently looking for a way to mate a Renault NG3 to a Ford Zetec.

I know that the lotus europa bellhousing might work, but have not seen it confirmed anywhere. Would like to know wether this is a straight swap and what clutch parts are to be used. also where could I find such a bellhousing?

Any info on this or even a source for an adpaterplate setup or such would be greatly appreciated.

It's for a locost conversion in "her" citroen HY campervan.

I have a Banks Engineering Renault NG3 to Vauxhall twin cam if that is of interest?

Yeah interesting indeed!

What else did you need to modify to fit the bellhousing and the engine to the trans?

also which engine is in 16V or older OHC?

the longer the stroke of the engine the better, I need low down torque, the van weighs wbout 2 metric tons.

any help much appreciated.

Richard at banks does not reply to email often correct?

I have the adaptor plate and and a gearbox which I was at one time intending to use with a redtop Vauxhall twincam but then had a change of plans and it has been sitting in my workshop unused as bought from Richard Banks .

I am afraid I cannot tell you which other engines would fit. I think from memory that the standard Vauxhall clutch was used with the twin cam set up. Obviously Richard would be able to let you know. I have an article in a magazine which I can dig out which was about the conversion in a Banks Europa.
